Wigan Diggers Festival – Saturday September 12th 2026

The Wigan Diggers Festival celebrates the life and ideas of Wigan born and bred Gerrard Winstanley & the 17th Century Diggers’ (True Leveller) Movement.
There will be stalls, speeches and music.
Our regional organiser for the Northwest Region, Kai Andersen, says;
“This has been one of the best public political and social events in North West England, I’ve been to most if not all of them since it began fourteen years ago that’s 2013, it’s free and very family friendly.
Try and catch the song based visual and spoken account of the Wigan Diggers around midday, it was at the Wigan Museum last year, which is a short walk from the town centre main event.
There’s two mainline rail stations within short walk distance of the event, it’s a friendly town, it’d be nice to say hello to a few SLPers if you come over.”
